“Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself.”

The founders of No Empty Rooms and I met to discuss what they needed in a logo. They came to me with a basic concept and just needed me to create a refined, polished version of it.
I sketched out a few versions of their idea, then cleaned up the one they liked the best.
We met again to discuss typography for their brand, and while they originally had virtually opposite opinions on what they wanted the type to look like, I was able to guide them to a middle ground that they were both happy with.

This was a really enjoyable experience for me. When a client has such a strong vision, it makes the design process much smoother. I’m now confident in my ability to combine opposing creative visions, as well.
